# Investment review

## The question this page answers

What did each closed season's buy cost, what came back from it, and how much of that can be trusted?

## What you see

The review is hindsight across closed seasons. It reads every commitment with a boxed window that ended before today; a rolling window does not end, so a continuity commitment has no close and cannot be reviewed, and the page says so. Every figure is USD, and a close whose currency Tightly cannot verify as USD shows no money figure rather than a converted one.

The evidence view leads with **Capital & margin**, compact tags for included and excluded closes, and the sales cutoff. Each row shows its commitment and window, delivered capital, realised margin, and margin per dollar of delivered capital. **Open** continues to that commitment. Grouped bars compare verified delivered capital and realised margin; return indicators show margin per dollar against the 1× reference. Exact figures remain in the rows, and missing measurements are not drawn as zero.

Margin is headed after carry where every row includes carry, before carry where none does, and Margin where the rows differ. Mixed rows retain their carry status. Unverified currency or missing costs remain unavailable; they are never treated as zero or converted.

**Closes not included** opens excluded closes and their reasons. **Review** continues to the affected commitment. Exclusions include a missing start date, no eligible delivered lines, missing delivered costs, and no positive delivered cost. Portfolio totals and reallocation are not calculated here.

## How Tightly decides it

Capital is delivered purchase order quantity at each line's cost, placed in a close by the expected delivery date. Return is the margin sold inside the window plus the margin sold after it, at current variant cost, less carry. After a window closes, sales of its products count toward the most recently ended window that holds them. Carry is measured only once a carrying-cost rate is declared, and then on the whole committed cost for the whole window, which is the most the buy could have cost to carry; the page says so rather than halving a figure. Nothing is converted between currencies, and current records can change, so this is not frozen history.

## What to do

Compare a close's capital, realised margin and return per dollar, then use **Open** to inspect its commitment. Review excluded closes before drawing conclusions. To measure carry, declare a carrying-cost rate in [Finance declarations](../finance/declarations); only an admin can change it. The review writes nothing and never edits a commitment.

## When it is empty or failed

> No closes are included in this review.

The read succeeded and no close qualified.

> The review did not answer.

A failed read, with Try again beside it.

> Calculating closed-season returns

The read is in flight.
