What importing a sell-out file in Ask writes
On an account's page, attach a CSV, TSV or XLSX export from that account. Ask reads the file, finds the week, the UPC or SKU, units sold, store, on-hand units and price, and shows what would land: rows, matches, rows with no matching product, the weeks covered and the totals. Nothing is written until you press Import. The weeks then appear in that account's Sell-out view.
Sending the same file again changes nothing: a week is kept once for each account, product and store. A corrected file replaces the weeks it covers. Nothing is sent to the account.
Who may import a sell-out file
A seat that can edit the company's data, on Tightly Connect. A read-only seat cannot attach, preview or import. The first file from an account that has no saved column match also needs an admin, who confirms the detected columns once; after that any editor can import that account's files.
What it needs first
The account must have its reporting answers recorded (what the figures cover, the currency, tax, and what a missing row means). Without them the preview shows no Import button. A file with no date asks which week it covers.
What it does not read
Not PDF, images, old .xls files or workbooks with several sheets, and not files over 8 MB. An account's own item number matches only when it equals one of your SKUs; other rows are listed as not matched and left out.
What Ask Tightly says before it imports
When you ask in words, Ask previews the file and then states the rows, the weeks and what is left out, and imports only after you say yes on a later turn.
How to change an import
There is no undo. Import the corrected file again and it replaces the weeks it covers.
